A 22-year-old male living in Sutton, near Ely (CB6), is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Support Worker to join his team. He is a power chair user with Cerebral Palsy, OCD and anxiety, and lives with his family and two cats.
He has a wide range of interests including Doctor Who, role-playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons, gaming on his laptop, Marvel, Star Wars, history, politics, and creative writing. With a great imagination and love for discussion and debate, he is looking for a Support Worker who shares similar interests, has a good sense of humour, and enjoys engaging conversation.
Hours and rate of pay
14.78 per hour, 6 hours per week during term time (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)

Training
Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
Safeguarding Adults
Introduction to first aid
Health and Safety / Moving and handling
What you would be doing...
Providing personal care including getting up, getting dressed and toileting
Preparing meals and providing support at mealtimes
Supporting with transfers using a hoist (training can be provided if required)
Assisting with activities both at home and in the community, including going to the cinema, bowling, eating out, and attending appointments
Driving his wheelchair-adapted vehicle to support access to activities and appointments
Required skills and experience
Experience supporting individuals with physical disabilities and mental health needs
Confident in promoting independence, building self-esteem, and encouraging confidence
Hard-working, reliable, trustworthy and committed
Good spoken English essential for conversation and debate
Must be a non-smoker
Driving licence required
