What you would be doing...
This role begins with
2 to 3 hours on a Saturday or Sunday
, with potential to
increase hours
over time and provide additional support during school holidays once a trusting relationship is built.
Supporting with
play, games, reading
, and general interaction at home
Over time,
taking her out
to the park or on short trips (a driver with own car is ideal)
Assisting with
eating and drinking
, using dysphagia-safe methods and encouraging her to stay engaged during mealtimes
Providing
personal care
, such as pad changing (after a relationship has been built)
Supporting with
medication
and, if necessary, assisting with seizure rescue medication.
Required skills and experience
Female PA
with a genuine love of play and working with children
Experience supporting children with
special educational needs and health needs
Dysphagia trained
, or willing to receive training
Confident supporting
feeding
, medication, and understanding emergency protocols
A good communicator, with
patience and empathy
, especially when supporting communication
Ideally a
driver
with business insurance, though initial support will be home-based
