We are looking for a fun, enthusiastic and proactive personal assistant to work with a young girl with Cerebral Palsy in her own home. You must have experience caring for children and ideally clients with additional needs. Our client has a keen interest in horses so if you have a passion for horses too, even better!
We would love to speak to you if you work well with children and you are able to be considerate within a family home setting. This role is working with a wonderful client and would be extremely rewarding for the right person.
You will assist and facilitate the client to participate in everyday activities at home and in the community.
You will work alongside therapists to support her and to increase her independence both at home and in the community.
Term time shifts Monday to Friday- 4pm-8pm
One day at a weekend 9am-6pm
Essential:
you must be reliable and professional - you value honesty, discretion and confidentiality
you must be fun, friendly and approachable
you are flexible and you work well under pressure and with sensitivity in the family home
you have a full, clean UK driving licence
You will be required to:
Implementing all aspects of the child's care plan
Supporting with care tasks
Supporting creative and safe access to the community and activities with the child
Being proactive, making the daily tasks fun and promoting independence
Working in the family home with sensitivity to support the parents/family
You will be able to evidence:
Your eligibility to work with children (not on the barred list)
Knowledge, understanding and currently working with children who have complex needs/learning difficulties in the home setting
An Enhanced DBS check (we can support you with an application for one)
Ability to understand learning to develop skills
Full clean driving licence
You will need to be fully conversant with safeguarding children and you will need to be familiar with the legal requirements of the Children's Act and Legislation pertaining to carers
