Job Description

We are looking to recruit a number of PAs to form a tight-knit team to support a gentleman in his own home in the Maryport area. Suitable applicants will be recruited immediately.

There is an ongoing need to fill this vacancy - repeat applicants who have visited the employer are welcome to reapply. Start date is dependent upon filling a team of PAs.

This gentleman has a keen interest in technology, ICT, listening to music and appreciates those with a good sense of humour. Someone who is active would be preferred to aid the gentleman in accessing the community in his powered chair.

Shifts are from 9am-2pm, 4pm-6pm and 8pm-10pm and weekend working will be expected. Additional hours are available to be used flexibly.

Bank work is also available.

Duties will include personal care, manual handling, household chores and assisting the gentleman to live as independently as possible; this includes getting out and about, shopping etc.

Manual handling training will be necessary and it would be beneficial if the applicant already has experience of this. Full training will be provided, however.

Level 2 & 3 in Health and Social care desirable but not essential. Experience in care and knowledge of cerebral palsy are also beneficial, but not essential. DBS check will be required and Moving and Handling training is also required. Driver preferred but not essential as this will mostly be used to run errands.
