We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Assistant to provide essential support in various aspects of daily living for individuals requiring assistance. This role is pivotal in enhancing the quality of life for our client who is receiving home support. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of practical skills and a caring disposition, ensuring that clients receive the highest standard of personal assistance and support.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with daily activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients' health conditions.
Provide first aid when necessary and respond to emergencies with appropriate measures.
Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting as required.
Implement behaviour management strategies to assist clients with special needs.
Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all health and safety regulations are adhered to.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
Experience
Previous experience in a nursing home, hospice care, or assisted living environment is highly desirable.
Previous experience with working with clients with dementia desirable.
Proven experience as a Personal Assistant or similar role in home care settings is an advantage.
Familiarity with medication administration protocols and first aid practices is essential.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as necessary.
