Job Description

A young, friendly and energetic adult with complex disabilities living in Eyemouth is looking for a cheerful, cheery and friendly support worker to join her small team. The role is largely social support, on occasions with her supportive family, to help ensure her safety when out and about. Support is needed to encourage her to engage in the community and build confidence once again in social situations. A driver is essential for this role as the young lady has her own car and enjoys trips out and about to museums, art galleries and other places of interest. There will also be an element of support in the home from time to time.

Terms:

Hours per week: Approx 10 hours

Hours of work: Very flexible with days and times to be agreed.

13.60 per hour.

Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata

Probationary period of 3 months

Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

To support a disabled young person to ensure their safety and well-being

To support with personal care needs as required on occasion.

To support with social outings and community engagement

To maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the client's equipment and surroundings

To develop a positive relationship with the young person and her family.

To interact with the client and keep them entertained with activities they enjoy in their local community and own home.

To work alongside a parent or another member of the team when required but to work independently too

Skills and Experience

Experience is not essential for a candidate with the right personal attributes, but they should be able to show some suitability for the role.

Full driving licence is essential as the client has her own car that will be used during support times.
