Job Description

Job purpose:

To assist with a variety of tasks which will enable me to live my personal and social life according to my wishes and interests.

This role involves overnight support.

About the individual:

I am a wheelchair user living in my own home. I have a neuromuscular impairment and have a high level of weakness. My main interest is music but I also enjoy visiting gardens and museums. I am pretty laid back and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere around the home.

Hours of work:

The hours may vary but it will not be less than 66 hours per month. Every other week it will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 3.00 pm to 7.00pm. Once a month it will be 10.00pm overnight to 2.00pm for three consecutive nights. The total amount of hours will increase to cover existing PA's holidays and sickness. Flexibility would be very advantageous. The hours stated can be adjusted to accommodate the right candidate.

Main duties

Social duties:

keep in touch and socialise with family and friends attend medical appointments attend social events such as music gigs or the cinema

Personal Care:

support with bathing or showering shaving dressing eating performing exercises/physiotherapy

Domestic duties:

support with grocery shopping preparing, cooking and serving meals and snacks cleaning, changing linen, laundry, ironing
These duties may vary from day-to-day

Skills, qualifications and experience

Essential:
