The opportunity
As a Personal Tax Manager, you will play a central role in supporting with managing our Personal Tax Compliance team and delivering exceptional service to a diverse client base. You will manage and review the preparation of personal tax returns, ensuring full compliance with UK tax legislation while driving quality, efficiency, and innovation across the team.
In this leadership role, you will oversee and develop a team of junior and assistant managers, championing technical excellence and fostering professional growth. You will also contribute to process improvements and the integration of innovative new technologies to enhance service delivery.
Your expertise and enthusiasm will be key in managing client relationships, supporting senior management, and upholding Azets' reputation for delivering personalised, high-quality tax services. Day to day duties
Support senior management in delivering high-quality personal tax compliance services, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance with UK tax legislation.
Manage a diverse client portfolio, acting as the main contact for compliance matters and identifying opportunities for value-added advisory work.
Review and ensure the accuracy of personal tax returns and computations prepared by the team, handling escalations and maintaining quality and risk standards.
Coach, develop, and inspire team members, fostering engagement, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
Monitor team performance, manage resources effectively, and contribute to achieving departmental KPIs, budgets, and deadlines.
Promote collaboration across teams and support client fee discussions and relationship development.
What are we looking for?
Professionally qualified (CTA, ATT, or equivalent) with strong technical expertise in personal tax compliance.
Experienced in managing client relationships and supporting or mentoring junior team members.
Confident, proactive, and innovative, with excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality work while identifying opportunities for improvement and growth.
Self-motivated and ambitious, with the drive to progress within a dynamic and growing team.
