Description
The role of Tax Manager is to build relationships with clients and to have direct responsibility of client portfolios. They are responsible for the delivery of an outstanding service to clients. They should drive an organisational culture where people are strongly connected to Xeinadin's vision, mission and values. The role requires an influential leader who can build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and who can deliver for the business and for clients.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a diverse portfolio of private clients including high-net-worth individuals, business owners, partnerships, and trusts.
Oversee the preparation and review of complex self-assessment tax returns.
Provide advisory services including inheritance tax planning, capital gains tax, non-domicile and residency planning, succession planning, and trust structuring.
Liaise directly with clients, HMRC, and other professional advisers.
Lead and mentor junior team members, providing training and performance feedback.
Ensure work is completed to high technical and ethical standards, on time and within budget.
Contribute to business development, including attending networking events, identifying opportunities, and supporting proposals.
Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation and industry trends affecting private clients.
Key Requirements
Minimum of 5 years previous experience working in a Practice tax environment.
Qualified ATT or CTA (or candidate in final stages of CTA qualification).
Previous experience delivering excellent service to clients.
Proven experience in private client tax in a professional services environment.
Strong technical knowledge of UK personal tax legislation, especially regarding HNWIs, trusts, and IHT/CGT planning.
- Ability to work on own initiative unsupervised.
- Ability to work to strict deadlines.
Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
Previous exposure to tax software (specifically Xero Tax and Digita) would be an advantage, along with a prerequisite for advanced Excel skills.
