The Role



As a Personal Tax Senior you manage the preparation and review of personal tax returns, ensuring compliance with UK tax laws. You will handle complex tax matters, provide tailored advice to clients, and support junior staff. Your role ensures accurate reporting, effective tax planning, and excellent client service.

Technical Skills



Preparation of Personal tax returns for Personal Tax clients for review by a Manager, with minimal adjustments being required Review Personal tax returns for Clients prepared by Assistants Delegate processing work on client base to junior staff member and review their work Preparation of technical advice on core elements of the Private Client tax affairs process, either for presentation to Managers as part of the review process and/or to be provided to clients Assisting with technical research and advice in respect of advisory projects (for example relief Claims, Capital Gains work) Understanding of Tax codes and Regulations and key deadlines to ensure work is undertaken in a timely manner Telephone calls with HMRC in respect of advanced queries (examples include tax calculation adjustments, enquiries) Provide daily guidance and help to junior members of staff Begin to develop the ability to lead internal projects (example, file reviews).


Qualifications



Studying towards or already achieved an accountancy and/or tax qualification or qualified by experience (e.g. ATT/CTA/ACA/ACCA/CA).





Essential Experience



It is expected that the above core and technical skills will have been developed through study alongside work experience in an accountancy practice.
