About The Role:
As a Personal Tutor here at COPC, your role will require you to work with cohorts of assigned students to ensure that every student receives effective pastoral support. You will deliver weekly Personal Development Curriculum sessions to each tutor group, following City of Portsmouth College's Personal Development programme, whilst ensuring your students make significant progress on their courses and achieve their learning goals leading to positive and sustained destinations.
Key Responsibilities:
Tailoring centrally written teaching materials for weekly sessions to reflect the main subject studied by each tutor group
Deliver 25 hours a week of Personal Development Curriculum sessions
Monitor progress of each student in allocated cohort using the EILP and Progress and Monitoring Points, paying particular attention to any gaps in relation to those in receipt of bursary, free college meals etc
Monitor attendance data of each student in tutorial cohort and ensure that attendance issues are challenged.
To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you:
A Level 3 Award in Education and Training or willingness to undertake
Experience of working in the post 16 educational sector
Experience of delivering sessions in an education or training setting
Ability to support young people
Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
Computer literate
