Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Tutor to provide academic support to students in various subjects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching and tutoring (with at least 2 years' tutoring/teaching experience), with a particular focus on fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves working closely with students to enhance their understanding of the material, build confidence, and develop effective study skills.

Duties

Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs Assist students with homework, exam preparation, and understanding difficult concepts Develop personalised lesson plans that align with the curriculum and learning objectives Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly Communicate effectively with students, parents, and educators regarding academic performance and areas for improvement Create a supportive and engaging learning atmosphere that encourages student participation Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress

Requirements

Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably in a formal educational setting. Must be PGCE or QTS qualified. Must be able to travel for in-person sessions to 548 Ley St, IG2 7DB Experience working with children, demonstrating patience and understanding of their unique learning styles Knowledge of special education practices is advantageous but not mandatory Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information clearly and effectively Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their academic goals Strong organisational skills to manage multiple students and their individual needs effectively
