We are currently seeking a highly motivated and compassionate
Locum Specialist Mental Health Pharmacist (Band 7)
to join a dedicated mental health team in a hospital setting. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced pharmacist to contribute to the care of patients with complex mental health needs in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.
You will play a key role in the safe and effective use of medicines, supporting clinical teams and ensuring patients receive the best possible pharmaceutical care tailored to their mental health treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialist mental health pharmaceutical care across inpatient wards.
Participate in clinical ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Ensure safe and effective medication use in accordance with best practice and regulatory guidelines.
Support the dispensary team, including checking prescriptions (with support from ACT technicians).
Offer advice and guidance to healthcare professionals on mental health medicines management.
Monitor and review patient medication regimens and contribute to treatment planning.
Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation.
Key Requirements
Essential:
Proven experience in a
mental health
setting and
hospital pharmacy
environment.
Registered with the
General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
.
Strong clinical knowledge of psychiatric medications and therapeutic approaches.
Able to perform
clinical ward-based duties
confidently and independently.
Previous experience supporting dispensary operations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
