We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, providing exceptional patient care, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimise patient outcomes. This position requires a strong understanding of anatomy, medication administration, and experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently while adhering to legal and ethical standards.
Provide expert advice on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions to patients and healthcare providers.
Conduct thorough medication reviews to ensure appropriateness for individual patient needs.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
Monitor patient progress and adjust medication regimens as necessary to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
Educate patients on proper medication administration techniques and the importance of adherence to prescribed therapies.
Maintain accurate records of all prescriptions dispensed, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Participate in continuous professional development activities to stay current with advancements in pharmacotherapy.
Requirements
A valid pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or equivalent regulatory body.
Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to pharmacology.
Proficiency in medication administration techniques and protocols.
Previous experience in patient care, particularly within an ICU setting is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient education.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks effectively.
