Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, providing exceptional patient care, and contributing to the overall health and well-being of our community. This position requires a strong understanding of anatomy, medication administration, and patient care, particularly in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.

Duties



Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Provide expert advice on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions to both patients and healthcare professionals. Conduct thorough medication reviews to optimise patient therapy and ensure safe administration. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. Monitor patient progress and adjust medication regimens as necessary based on clinical assessments. Educate patients on proper medication administration techniques and the importance of adherence to prescribed therapies. Maintain accurate records of all prescriptions dispensed, including controlled substances. Participate in continuous professional development activities to stay current with advancements in pharmacology and healthcare practices.

Experience



A degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution is essential. Previous experience in a clinical pharmacy setting, particularly within an ICU environment, is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to pharmacotherapy. Proven skills in patient care with a focus on medication administration. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to patients and colleagues. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating strong organisational skills.
