We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, with experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting being highly desirable. As a Pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications, providing expert advice to patients and healthcare professionals, and contributing to the overall health and wellbeing of our patients.
Responsibilities
Dispense medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Provide comprehensive patient care by reviewing medication regimens, identifying potential drug interactions, and offering therapeutic recommendations.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise medication therapy for patients, particularly those in critical care settings.
Educate patients on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and the importance of adherence to prescribed therapies.
Maintain accurate records of medication dispensation and patient interactions.
Stay updated on advancements in pharmacology, anatomy knowledge, and best practices in medication administration.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance pharmacy services and patient outcomes.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification; registration with the relevant pharmacy council is essential.
Previous experience as a Pharmacist is preferred; ICU experience is a significant advantage.
Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to pharmacotherapy.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly to patients and colleagues.
Demonstrated commitment to patient care and safety, with a focus on improving health outcomes through effective medication management.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while also being capable of working independently when required.
