Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, with a focus on medication management and administration. This role is essential in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients, particularly those in critical care settings. The Pharmacist will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to provide optimal pharmaceutical care.

Duties

Review and interpret prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medication therapy. Provide expert advice on the safe use of medications, including potential side effects and interactions. Administer medications as required, ensuring adherence to protocols and guidelines. Conduct patient consultations to assess medication therapy and provide counselling on health management. Monitor patient progress and make recommendations for adjustments in therapy as necessary. Maintain accurate records of medication dispensation and patient interactions. Collaborate with medical staff, particularly in ICU settings, to develop comprehensive treatment plans. Stay updated on new medications, therapies, and best practices in pharmacology.

Qualifications

Bachelor'sdegree in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification; registration with the relevant pharmacy council is essential. Previous experience in an ICU environment is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to pharmacotherapy. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and education. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating leadership when required. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills are crucial for managing multiple tasks efficiently.
