Duties

Dispense medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. Conduct thorough medication reviews to identify potential interactions or contraindications. Provide counselling to patients on medication usage, side effects, and storage requirements. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. Monitor patient progress and adjust medication regimens as necessary, particularly for those in intensive care units (ICU). Maintain accurate records of prescriptions and patient interactions in accordance with regulatory guidelines. Stay updated on advancements in pharmacology, therapeutics, and best practices in medication administration.

Qualifications

A valid pharmacist registration with the relevant regulatory body. Previous experience in a clinical setting, particularly within an ICU environment, is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology as it relates to pharmacotherapy. Proven ability to provide high-quality patient care through effective communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with medication administration protocols and safety measures. Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
