We are seeking experienced

General Pharmacists with hospital experience

who are passionate about developing their career in oncology.

Full training in oncology and haematology pharmacy

will be provided as part of a structured 6-month development in-house training programme, designed to equip you with the specialist skills and confidence to progress in this field.

During this period, you will work 2 days per week at either our Oxford or Windsor centres, 2 days at Bristol, and have 1 day per week working from home for study and self-directed learning.

After successfully completing your training, you will be based full-time on site (Monday to Friday) at Bristol. There may be a requirement for cover when necessary, at other sites.

As travel between sites will be required during training,

a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.



The Role:



As a Pharmacist - Oncology/Haematology with us, you'll play a pivotal role in being responsible for providing pharmaceutical expertise and inputting the care of the patients. You will facilitate the daily running of the Pharmacy Department, providing a safe and effective medicines management service to all patients, staff, consultants and customers. What You'll Do:



Provide a comprehensive clinical pharmacy and medicine management service to oncology patients and to ensure a consistent level of service in accordance to GenesisCare policies

Provide expert advice, at a highly specialist level, on pharmaceutical matters in oncology

Participate in the procurement, preparation, dispensing and distribution of medicine

Provide clinical checking of systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) and final release to nursing staff

What You'll Have:



Experience and skills:



Experience in a hospital environment

Dispensing medicines and experience of medicine management in a hospital setting

Electronic prescribing

Experience of clinical audit and/or practice research

Experience of the production, promotion, implementation and monitoring of protocols

Patient management

Counselling

Strong interpersonal skills

Attention to detail - ensure accurate recording of data, including patient drug history

Good organisational and planning skills

Able to plan and organise straightforward tasks and programmes, and ensure effective control of pharmaceutical stock

Able to communicate clearly with a range of people at differing levels across the hospital, deploying a range of techniques to do this effectively

Qualifications and Knowledge:



Understanding of protocols and regimens development

Registered with GPHC

BSc Pharm or MPHARM

One year's preregistration training

Further post-grad qualification in clinical pharmacy e.g. Clinical Diploma (desirable)

Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society

Independent Prescriber (or willing to train)
