We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, providing exceptional patient care, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimise therapeutic outcomes. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy, medication administration, and experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
Duties
Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Conduct thorough medication reviews to identify potential drug interactions, contraindications, and allergies.
Provide patient education on medication usage, side effects, and adherence strategies to enhance patient understanding and compliance.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Monitor patient progress and outcomes related to medication therapy, making necessary adjustments as required.
Maintain accurate records of prescriptions dispensed and ensure proper inventory management of pharmaceutical supplies.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in pharmacotherapy and participate in continuous professional development activities.
Flu vaccination and Covid vaccination training is required or can be provided prior to start.
Must be able to run travel clinic or can arrange to be trained
Requirements
A valid pharmacy degree from an accredited institution and a current practising licence.
Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to pharmacology.
Experience in medication administration within an ICU or similar healthcare environment is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly to patients and colleagues.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
