Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Accuracy Checking Technician to join our team. The ACT will be responsible for verifying the accuracy of prescriptions filled by pharmacy dispensers, ensuring exceptional standards of patient care and safety in accordance with UK pharmacy regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Medication Verification:

- Accurately check prescriptions prepared for correctness in medication selection, dosage, and labeling, in compliance with the NHS guidelines.

- Quality Assurance:

- Report any discrepancies or errors to the responsible pharmacist promptly.

- Patient Support:

- Assist patients by answering questions regarding their medications and providing guidance on proper usage and storage.

- Inventory Management:

- Monitor stock levels of medications and supplies, reporting any concerns regarding shortages or expired products.

- Help maintain an organised and efficient pharmacy environment.

- Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure adherence to all relevant UK pharmacy laws, guidelines from the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), and local pharmacy protocols.

- Participate in continuous professional development to stay up to date with the latest pharmaceutical practices and legislation.

Qualifications:

- Education:

- Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program.

- Certification:

- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC

- Experience:

- Prior experience working in a pharmacy environment, particularly in a role involving medication checking or dispensing, is essential.

Skills:

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication verification.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient care.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced pharmacy setting.

- Familiarity with pharmacy management software and electronic medication systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From 15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
