Learn a job whilst you get your qualifications, Healthcare assistant and NVQ2 dispensing assistant (option to get trained to NVQ3 technician). Your tasks include dealing with prescriptions and customers and working both at the counter and in the dispensary. You will be supported by the pharmacist and trained dispensers.
The working hours include 3h on Sunday between 5pm and 8pm.
No previous experience required.
You will be trained during the duration of your apprenticeship to carry out the following duties:
Sale of over the counter medicines
Ordering stock
Using the computer to write emails to GP surgeries, using the pharmacy dispensing system (Proscript) to label prescriptions
Processing payments
To maintain a clean and tidy working environment
Preferred Candidate skills:
Good communication skills
Willing to learn
The apprenticeship program takes 15 months to complete (27 months for the NVQ3)
When completing your apprenticeship you will receive a Level 2 NVQ, which will allow you to work as a fully qualified dispensing assistant, and act as a gateway to further career development, such as NVQ3 level
