Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a full time, permanent position of a Pharmacy Dispenser at our site in The New QEII Hospital, Outpatient Pharmacy, Welwyn Garden City. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate interested in expanding their skills and knowledge in an outpatient hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in working within a community pharmacy dispensary based setting.

The working hours for this position is Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm.

Are you an NVQ Level 2 qualified dispenser with a qualification from a nationally recognised provider such as the NPA or Buttercups looking to progress your career and gain an NVQ3 qualification as a registered Pharmacy Technician?

You will work closely with a highly motivated Pharmacy team, further developing and delivering an efficient, convenient and accessible pharmacy service to meet the needs of our patients.

Your day to day duties will involve:

Supporting the technical aspects of the dispensary including the receipt and endorsing of prescriptions as well as the labelling, dispensing and assembly of medication. Counsel patients on the use of their medication where appropriate, tailoring the conversations to ensure patients are fully informed about their healthcare needs. Support the dispensary team in actively promoting efficient pharmacy operations and services.
Full training will be provided on induction. As a minimum requirement, you will have completed or are currently working towards the Medicines Counter Assistant (NVQ2) course or equivalent.
