Overview

Are you an experienced and reliable dispensing lead looking to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment? We are seeking a dedicated and professional dispenser to join our busy dispensary team at Market Cross Surgery. You will be an integral part of providing excellent healthcare services to our patients, ensuring that prescriptions are dispensed accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

- Lead the dispensing team

- Writing and implementing standard operation procedures

- Dispense medications accurately in line with prescription orders

- Provide patients with information regarding their medication, including dosage, side effects, and storage requirements

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of drug interactions, contraindications, and safety standards

- Assist in the management of stock levels, ensuring medications are well-stocked and appropriately stored

- Work closely with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide a seamless service

- Handle medication queries from patients and healthcare professionals

- Keep accurate records in line with practice and legal requirements

- Adhere to all regulatory and safety guidelines, including data protection and confidentiality standards

Requirements

- Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent

- Previous experience as a dispenser, preferably in a GP practice or community pharmacy

- A strong understanding of medication types, dosage, and relevant regulations

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear advice to patients

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure

- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently

- Good IT skills, including familiarity with dispensing systems

- Experience using clinical systems such as SystmOne

- Knowledge of NHS prescription processes
