We're looking for a
hands-on and reliable
Pharmacy & Stock Control Assistant
to join our busy veterinary hospital.
This is a vital
behind-the-scenes role
, supporting our
Clinical Operations Manager
and wider team to ensure our
medication and stock systems
are organised, safe, and efficient. You'll also assist the veterinary care assistant team where needed, contributing directly to the smooth day-to-day running of the hospital.
You must be able to commit to a
40-hour week
, working
10am-6pm, Monday to Friday
, including
bank holidays
as part of the rota.
What You'll Be Doing:
Supporting the day-to-day
stock control process
- including assisting with practice orders, unpacking deliveries, allocating stock across departments, entering data onto our clinical system, rotating stock, checking expiry dates, and monitoring usage
Assisting with the
dispensing of medications
, including preparing repeat prescriptions for patients
Carrying out
regular stock audits
to maintain accuracy and identify any discrepancies
Overseeing
clinical waste management
in line with practice policy and regulatory standards
Supporting the
end-of-day routine
, including restocking, cleaning, and ensuring the safe and secure storage of all medications
Responding to
stock and medication queries
from both the clinical team and client care team
Working closely with the
Clinical Operations Manager
and
Practice Support Manager
to improve pharmacy processes and stock systems
Providing occasional support with
basic Veterinary Care Assistant duties
, where needed
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience in stock control, ideally within a clinical or veterinary environment
Good numeracy skills, attention to detail, and confidence using IT systems
Someone who is proactive and able to manage their own workload, while also working well within a team
A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn and get involved
