We are looking for a proactive and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our experienced medicines management team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified technician to develop professionally within a primary care setting while making a meaningful impact on patient safety and medicines optimisation.
About the Role
As a Pharmacy Technician at St Mary's Surgery, you will play a key role in supporting the safe, effective, and efficient use of medicines. You will assist in medication reviews, manage repeat prescriptions, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with our Clinical Pharmacists. Supervision and support will be provided to help you thrive in your role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support patient safety and medicines optimisation initiatives
- Conduct Level 1 medication reviews and repeat prescription reconciliations
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and colleagues
- Liaise with external partners including community pharmacies and PCN teams
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medication records
- Contribute to audits, safety alerts, and formulary implementation
- Assist in meeting practice targets, including QOF and DES requirements

Key Requirements
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Experience working in community pharmacy or primary care settings
- Strong communication skills and confidence with IT systems
- Enthusiastic about personal development and patient-centred care
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
