Join our team as a Band 5 Senior Pharmacy Technician at Lambeth Hospital and play a key role in delivering safe, effective and patient-centred medicines management within one of the UK's leading mental health trusts. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive and dynamic hospital pharmacy environment, working closely with pharmacists, technicians and wider clinical teams. You'll contribute to high-quality dispensary services, accuracy checking, medicines reconciliation and patient counselling, while being supported with ongoing training and professional development across South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
What you can add:
Participate in Medicines Management initiatives, work as an ACT (checking clinically screened prescriptions), and follow departmental SOPs independently.
Accurately dispense medications, referring to Senior Clinical Pharmacists when necessary, and provide patient counselling, Medicines Reconciliation and PODs services.
Support and teach nursing staff, and guide Pharmacy Assistants and Preregistration Pharmacists in good dispensing practice, medicines use, and storage.
Contribute to efficient dispensary operations, ensuring safe and secure handling of medicines and compliance with quality assurance systems.
Take part in the dispensary rota, including receiving prescriptions, taking drug histories, identifying allergies/interactions, counselling patients, issuing medications, and resolving medication-related queries.
Attend departmental training/education sessions and maintain ongoing professional development..
What you'll need:
Minimum 6 months recent NHS/private Pharmacy Technician experience.
NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent).
ACPT qualified or currently working towards it.
AIMM/MOP or equivalent medicines management accreditation.
GPhC registration with required CPD.
Hospital dispensary experience.
