We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Thameside, a category B Prison located in Thamesmead, South East London.
In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.
Hours
Monday - Friday: 07:30 - 18:30
Saturday - Sunday: 08:30 - 18:00
On a 4 week rolling rota.
Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to 43,756 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.
• Hold direct patient contact, which will be part be of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison service's needs
• Make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
• Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
• Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.

Prior to joining Practice Plus Group I spent almost 10 years working in community, but I have found that the prison environment is where I feel I can utilise my skills and truly make a difference. I see patients with complex health issues, I help keep them informed about their medication and support out-patients in managing their conditions day to day.
