Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity in the Cancer and Haematology Academic Research Team for a phase 1 Clinical Trial Manager. The Cancer & Haematology Academic Research Team are a research support unit working across both Imperial College London and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and other affiliated NHS Trusts, delivering clinical trials of all phases. The research methods employed within the group include clinical projects, including randomised controlled cancer & haematology trials, molecular and cellular biology, material science, ultrasound and contrast enhanced ultrasound imaging, health economics, biostatistics, systematic reviews, metabonomics and fluid dynamics.

The post will be closely linked with the Cancer & Haematology Research Delivery teams within ICHT.

Duties and responsibilities

The post holder will oversee the coordination and follow up of a range of academically funded multi-centred randomised clinical trials within the Cancer & Haematology and Surgery portfolios. You will be responsible for all aspects of trial management, including close liaison with the Chief Investigator and PIs at other centres, management of the associated study staff and implementing / adapting established Imperial College London/NHS Trust systems and processes to ensure the trial is developed and conducted to the highest scientific and regulatory standards. The post will include monitoring the quality of data collected from the electronic CRF and from patient records.

Essential requirements

We are seeking to appoint a hardworking and enthusiastic individual who will be able to hit the ground running. You must hold a degree and have proven experience of managing research or clinical trial / project management and administration. A working knowledge of the current EU Clinical Trials Directive, UK Clinical Trials regulations, Principles of GCP, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Research Governance Framework legislation is essential.

A flexible attitude is essential as you will be working on multiple projects simultaneously within the role. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in clinical trial management within a supportive research team.

This is a full time and fixed term role for 12 months. You will be based at the Hammersmith Campus (East Acton).

The College is currently trialling a Work Location Framework until early 2023. Hybrid working may be considered for this role and the role holder may be expected to work 60% or more of their time onsite, with 40% the minimum time spent onsite.
