Philanthropy Manager

Wales, United Kingdom

Job Description

Due to an internal promotion, we are delighted to be bringing this fantastic and vital role to your attention.

Are you looking for a role within an organisation where the work you do makes a real difference to people\'s lives? Are you looking to develop your fundraising experience with a sector leading team? If the answer is yes then our Philanthropy Manager for the South West, Wales and Channel Islands role could be for you.

Every childhood is worth fighting for. This is our belief. We all share it. And it drives our Fundraising team to get out there and bring in the funds we need to protect children and prevent abuse. Join us as a Philanthropy Manager covering the South West, Wales and Channel Islands, and get more people involved in change that means everything.

The Philanthropy Individuals team is part of the NSPCC\'s Major Donors department which itself sits within the Income Generation Directorate. We focus upon high level, individual donors and are responsible for securing major gifts ranging from four to seven figures+.

Our success is founded upon building high quality and enduring relationships between the NSPCC and those with the capacity to make transformational gifts.

You will have experience and success in developing and stewarding individual relationships to achieve results within a fundraising or relationship management environment. You will be committed to maximising income generation, have a proven track record of delivery against targets and experience of cultivating prospects.

Whilst the role is primarily home based, the successful candidate will have regular travel across the South West and Wales, and occasional travel to other parts of the UK for other meetings/training.

The Philanthropy Manager will be supported by a Senior Philanthropy Manager for the region as well working closely with colleagues from various disciplines of fundraising and service delivery, to ensure a collaborative and colligate approach to income generation in order to maximise opportunities for all.

We have a strong delivery presence across the South West, Wales and Channel Islands region with service centre and hubs in Swindon, Plymouth, Cardiff and Jersey from which our activity is delivered and co-ordinated. Additionally, we also have a Childline base Prestatyn and Cardiff.

This is a hugely exciting time to join us as a regional Philanthropy Manager with our ambitious 10-year organisational strategy placing a real emphasis on working with local communities to prevent child abuse. In addition to our current donor base, we need to bring more high-net-worth supporters along for the journey in making our society a safer place for children to grow, thrive and be happy. We need to surround ourselves with people of influence who have the networks to make real change. We believe that everyone has a part to play in ending child abuse, come and play your part!

This is a real opportunity to make a difference to children\'s lives, but we also like to reward people by offering a great working environment, being part of a friendly and supportive team, and offering stimulating and challenging work, with plenty of development opportunities. We offer a variety of rewards and benefits including: generous annual leave, employee benefits and assistance programme, pension and life assurance schemes.

So, join us at this exciting time and you\'ll become part of an expanding team that cares about the work they do and the people they work with. You\'ll discover opportunities to grow, along with challenges and a shared purpose that\'ll bring the best out in you. And you\'ll get to find your own way to make a difference that means more, and that impacts millions of young lives. We want to ensure roles are accessible and inclusive of everyone, which is why the NSPCC offers a high degree of flexibility around ways of working.
