Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as proficiency in phlebotomy techniques. This role is vital in ensuring the accurate collection of blood samples for laboratory analysis, contributing to effective patient care and diagnosis for a brand new service offering in NIPT and womens health. Accordingly, hours will be relateed to demand and some flexibility is desirable in that respect.

Responsibilities

Perform venipunctures punctures with precision and care. Ensure the proper identification of patients prior to sample collection. Maintain aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during procedures. Accurately label and handle specimens for laboratory processing. Document all procedures and patient interactions in accordance with medical protocols. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care. Stay informed about medical terminology and laboratory processes relevant to phlebotomy.

Skills

Nursing qualification would be desirable. Proven experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred. Strong knowledge of phlebotomy techniques and best practices. Understanding of human anatomy and physiology, particularly related to blood collection. Familiarity with medical terminology associated with laboratory work. Proficiency in aseptic technique to ensure patient safety during procedures. Experience in laboratory settings is advantageous, enhancing workflow efficiency. Experience working with pregnant patients is a plus, demonstrating adaptability across age groups. Pay: 12.21-20.00 per hour
