Plas Menai Health Centre have a vacancy for a Phlebotomist working as part of a team, the primary role will be to undertake venepuncture using technical equipment to safely draw blood from patients; explain the process; complete appropriate documentation; store samples in the correct environment and send to the laboratory.
Ensure an organised and clean work area and re-stocking of equipment as necessary.
This is a newly created position and the successful applicant will support the practice nursing team, working as part of the Practices' multidisciplinary team.
The Phlebotomist will primarily undertake all aspects of the venepuncture procedure.
Collect blood samples directly from patients by venepuncture
Accurate identification of patient and labelling of samples.
Responsible for data entry on to the computer system
Maintains records in relation to activities carried out.
Communication with all patients of varying needs.
Adhere strictly to established Practice protocols and policies
Housekeeping/Ordering of stock
Qualification Specifications
Essential
GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
Qualification in Phlebotomy
Desirable
Able to take Blood Pressure
