Photogrammetry Artist Multiple Projects

Job Description

:

We want you to #JOINTHEREBELLION!

For 30 years we\'ve been creating incredible video games at our multiple studios, but Rebellion is more than just games. We have our own film and mo-cap studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd.

We operate across multiple UK locations, with studios based in Oxford, Warwick, Liverpool, and Wakefield. Work-life balance is important to us, and we want everyone at Rebellion to work in the way that works best for them. So, if you are based in the UK, we are always open to discussing how we can support flexible/hybrid working options.

We have an exciting opportunity for an internal candidate to become a Photogrammetry Artist in our dedicated Photogrammetry Team.

Key responsibilities of this role is to scan, process and deliver high quality photorealistic assets for the project and ensure that the integration of the work is in line with the project\'s technical constraints and artistic direction. Your focus is on the execution of your work and how this develops the project.

An exciting and essential part of this role is travelling across different locations, both in the UK and abroad, to capture assets and references, and therefore there is a requirement that you can travel and commit to occasional overnight trips.

We\'ve visited farms in Northern France, the bunkers of Guernsey, hiked up mountains, crawled inside working tanks and gained behind the scenes access to some of the UKs most prestigious museums and organisations.

You will also have the opportunity to participate in R&D projects to improve the photogrammetry workflow and hardware, help develop tools and software, expand the team\'s reach (e.g., collaborate with our in-house cgi team at Rebellion Film Studios) and train other artists.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating high quality 3d models and PBR materials based on photogrammetry scans
  • Capturing 3D assets, materials and reference photographs
  • Communicate and Collaborate with the photogrammetry, environment and tech art teams to ensure the artistic and technical quality of your own work.
  • Reference game design documents to develop an understanding of the environments, objectives, atmospheres, story and style of the project
  • Receive feedback and make changes when necessary
  • Participate in R&D projects to improve our workflow and capabilities
  • Clean, maintain and expand our scanning equipment.
  • Meticulously organise and regularly update the asset database
  • Supporting the Lead Photogrammetry Artist in any ad hoc tasks and duties
Requirements:
  • Expertise in making game assets -e.g high poly modelling/sculpting, baking and PBR texturing.
  • Photogrammetry knowledge is desirable, but not essential.
  • Specialist knowledge of a niche area like foliage, vehicles, CGI, or laser scanning is a huge plus.
  • Willingness to learn and adopt our specialised photogrammetry pipeline.
  • Able to come to the Oxford office for training, equipment maintenance and trip preparation.
Benefits:

We offer an extensive benefits package to our team including:
  • 26 days holiday + Bank holidays (increasing with service at 5 years - one day each year until you reach 31 days)
  • Private Medical Insurance, healthcare cash plan, including dental and Vision
  • Life Assurance, Income Protection & Critical Illness Cover
  • Enhanced Family Leave
