Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and versatile Photographer to join our campaign production team. The ideal candidate is both technically strong and creatively instinctive, with an ability to tell compelling visual stories that support campaign messaging. Experience in political or advocacy campaigns is a strong bonus.

Key Responsibilities

Photography & Creative Execution

Capture high-quality images across a wide range of scenarios including rallies, events, portraits, behind-the-scenes moments, and campaign activities. Highly skilled with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Ability to add and create branding assets to photography to tight deadlines. Work closely with the Head of Production and broader creative team to ensure all photography aligns with brand identity, messaging, and campaign tone. Direct subjects when needed, including candidates, spokespeople, and supporters, to capture natural, engaging visuals. Adapt to rapidly changing environments and lighting conditions, maintaining consistent quality throughout.

On-Location Editing & Delivery

Edit and deliver selects quickly, often on-location or within short timeframes. Apply consistent colour, tone, and style that reflects campaign branding. Use efficient workflows, presets, and organisational systems to maintain rapid turnaround without losing quality. Manage file transfers, backups, and naming conventions for team-wide accessibility.

Asset Management & Organisation

Maintain a well-organised photo archive with appropriately labelled, sorted, and easily accessible imagery. Coordinate with the production team to ensure all captured photography is available for social media, press, design, and video usage. Track equipment, batteries, cards, and other kit to ensure readiness for all shoots.

Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with videographers and campaign staff to understand messaging priorities and upcoming content needs. Communicate proactively about shoot requirements, timeline constraints, and any issues that may impact delivery. Support the wider team during major campaign moments, including events, travel days, or back-to-back shoots.

Skills & Experience

Required

3+ years professional experience as a photographer. Proficient with professional DSLR/mirrorless cameras, lenses, and lighting systems. Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility: portraits, events, documentary-style, and candid moments. Proficiency with Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and image retouching Ability to edit quickly and efficiently, often on location. Strong understanding of lighting (both natural and artificial) and how to manipulate it for different scenarios. Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage large volumes of images. Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to evolving campaign needs. Strong visual storytelling instincts.

Bonus / Nice to Have

Experience photographing political campaigns. Graphic design skills (Illustrator, Canva, etc) for producing basic social graphics or layouts. Light videography experience. Ability to travel and work irregular hours during peak campaign periods.

Ideal Candidate
