Job Description

Hybrid requirements: 2 days per week in the office.
We are looking for an experienced PHP Software Engineer with an understanding of RESTful APIs and a passion for continuous improvement. You will join our Payments & Billing team to create a seamless financial administrative experience for both customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and refactor financial processes within our Laravel applications.
Integrate with third-party services and APIs.
Perform code reviews for other Engineers and provide thoughtful feedback.
Work with Product Managers to scope, define, and estimate work.
Support with DevOps, including monitoring and maintaining test and production environments.
Maintain the high standards of our codebase.
Mentor other team members, including regular pairing sessions.

Key Requirements:

Proven experience writing performant and clean code to modern PHP 8 standards.
Experience developing with the Laravel framework.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with internal and external customers.
Experience using version control such as git and Bitbucket/GitHub/GitLab.
Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
Strong understanding of testing principles.

Desirable:

Experience with AWS services and/or Kubernetes.
Experience designing efficient SQL queries and schemas (working with large datasets in payments & billing).
Familiarity with Test-Driven Development.
