Physical Activity and Inclusion Coordinator

Working within a specific area of Cardiff, you will play an important role in supporting and enabling more people, especially children and young people, to get and stay active. This will require whole system thinking and influence, and a commitment to work in partnership with key stakeholders across the Move More Partnership, to create the conditions for residents to be more active more often and support the Move More Strategy ambition to make 'Cardiff the most physically active city in the UK'. To meet this challenge you will coordinate, inspire, foster collaboration and champion the benefits of moving more.


You'll coordinate by:



Utilising asset-based community development methods to engage the least active and identify the strengths within an area. Draw on relevant data, insights and build trusted relationships to influence key stakeholders to better meet the needs of those who face the greatest inequalities. Capture learning and impacts of change within the system and across the place via learning logs, collection of stories and data. Identify and complete funding applications to support the development and long-term sustainability of activities. Identifying gaps and create opportunities to enable local communities to move more.

What you'll bring




As a place-based coordinator, you'll be able to engage and inspire a wide range of people to come together to collaborate and connect, inspiring and influencing across the system. With superb written communication skills and experience of community engagement, you'll be able to create insightful reports for a range of internal and external stakeholders.


Additionally you'll:

Embrace Met Sports continuous learning approach. Be self-disciplined and able to work independently, manage own workload and use own initiative without close supervision. Experience of administrative, budget and project planning.
