Vacancy - Physical Activity & Health Officer - Children's health team

We care about our community; we care about our people. We have an exciting opportunity for a Physical Activity & Health Officer to join our Health team, working within our Active Schools and Live IT programmes to support children and their families to adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Within this role you will support delivery of the Active Schools programme, working with primary schools to increase physical activity levels in fun and easy ways across the whole school community, and the Live IT programme, which is a child weight management programme supporting children and young people aged 5 to 17 who are overweight to lose weight.

The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering physical activity and group-based activities to children and young people. You will be an excellent communicator, skilled in working with integrity, professionalism and discretion, you will possess a good understanding of health inequalities and have the ability to work with families to support healthy lifestyle improvements.

Qualifications



Level 2 Coaching qualification (or equivalent qualification in the field of children and young people's physical health)?

or teaching qualification/Level 3 certificate in supporting teaching and learning/Level 4 certificate in higher level Teaching assistant?

Youth Mental Health First Aid

Experience



Experience of delivering physical activity to children and young people

Experience of working with children in Reception/Foundation stage?

DCCT Grade 3:

With a starting salary of 24,656.21

This role is full time (52 weeks per year) or can be offered as a term time contract on a pro-rata basis (40 weeks per year) and initially fixed term for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension subject to funding.
