Guitar Teacher Bushey isn't just another agency. We're a community of 10+ tutors and nearly 200 students in SW Herts and NW London.

We're musician/tutor-run, so we've done and do what you do, we get it, and we want you and your students to LOVE being part of our school, and work with us to build something even bigger and better as long-term partners.

Tutor Levels & Pay at Guitar Teacher Bushey

All tutors start at Student or Pro level. Progression at every level is based on performance, experience, qualifications and reliability, and is reviewed periodically. There is no time-served or automatic progression, and in some cases tutors may move down a level if performance does not meet expectations.

Student Tutor

24-34/hr in-person | 14-23/hr online
Early-career tutors building real teaching experience. Suitable for university students studying music or recent graduates. Optional mentoring available.

Pro Tutor

24-34/hr in-person | 22-33/hr online
Confident, reliable tutors delivering consistently structured, professional lessons. Most new tutors start at this level.

Trusted Tutor

42-57/hr in-person | 30-47/hr online
High-performing tutors with excellent feedback, organisation and communication, and a proven track record working with our company.

Super Tutor

64-85/hr in-person | 40-57/hr online
Exceptional tutors with extensive experience and outstanding musicianship. Act as ambassadors for Guitar Teacher Bushey, with a deep understanding of our services, policies and procedures. This level reflects sustained excellence over many years working with the company and is awarded only after a long, rigorous proving period.

What we're looking for

Musical excellence and a genuine interest in teaching - required*
Experience with students aged 6+, including adults - required for Pro Tutor+*
Reliable, professional and good with parents - required*
A degree in music - desired (required to start as Trusted Tutor+)*
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to get one) and relevant safeguarding training - required*
Available and looking to take on at least two days of work (you can pick your days) on weekdays 4-8pm or weekends - required*
Ideally based within 30 minutes of the advertised teaching position, unless you are in the area already - required

A car is useful for home lessons, but tutors with a suitable home teaching space are also welcome - desired*
