With over 300 climbing and studio customers coming through our doors every day, we are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic

Pizza Chef & Barista

to join our vibrant team at

The Gritstone

- our cafe, bar, and pizzeria based within the climbing wall.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role combining quality pizza preparation with excellent coffee-making and front-of-house service. You'll play a key role in delivering great food, great coffee, and a welcoming experience for our community, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook pizzas and other menu items to a consistently high standard. Prepare food components efficiently and present all dishes in a timely manner. Make high-quality coffee and serve food and drinks with a friendly, customer-focused approach. Engage confidently with customers, taking orders accurately and responding to questions or concerns. Maintain cleanliness and organisation across the cafe, bar, and kitchen areas. Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations at all times. Monitor stock levels, restock supplies, and report shortages as needed. Become proficient across all sections of the kitchen and cafe operation. Support catering, events, and busy service periods at the climbing wall. Collaborate closely with the wider team to ensure smooth daily operations. Contribute ideas for menu development, events, and special occasions where appropriate.

Requirements

Barista experience is essential.

Minimum 6 months' experience making pizza is essential.

Previous experience in a cafe, restaurant, or kitchen environment is essential. Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and sanitation practices. A genuine passion for food, coffee, and hospitality. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a busy environment. . Experience in catering or bartending is an advantage but not required.

Hours & Pay

14.50 per hour

Minimum of 12 hours per week

Weekend availability required
