The Broadway Cafe in Deptford is looking for a

passionate and skilled Pizza Chef

to join our friendly kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, stretch, top, and cook pizzas to our house standards -- ensuring quality, consistency, and excellent presentation. Assist with preparation of additional dishes such as salads, melanzane, focaccia sandwiches, and other Italian-inspired specials. Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene at all times. Manage ingredients efficiently, including dough preparation, stock rotation, and minimising waste. Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service during busy periods. Support menu development and contribute creative ideas for new pizza flavours and seasonal sides. Follow all food safety and health regulations to keep a safe, clean working environment. Train and support junior team members when needed, promoting a positive team culture.

Experience & Skills

Proven experience as a

Pizza Chef or a Cook

in a cafe, pizzeria, or restaurant setting. Strong knowledge of pizza dough making, baking techniques, and ingredient handling. Familiarity with Italian-style cooking and side dishes (e.g., salads, melanzane alla parmigiana). Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene preferred). Excellent time management, especially under pressure during peak service. Reliable, motivated, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Passionate about good food, presentation, and customer satisfaction.
