Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a range of pizzas using traditional Italian methods.
Hand-make dough, sauces and toppings from scratch.
Operate and maintain pizza ovens (wood-fired, gas or electric).
Monitor cooking times and oven temperatures for perfect results.
Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic pizza station.
Ensure all pizzas meet the restaurant's quality and presentation standards.
Manage stock rotation, ingredient preparation and portion control.
Comply with all food hygiene and safety regulations.
Work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.
Support the Head Chef and assist in developing new pizza recipes and specials.
Requirements:
Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a Pizza Chef in a busy restaurant or pizzeria.
Excellent dough-making and oven-handling skills.
Strong understanding of Italian ingredients and flavour profiles.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate preferred.
Reliable, punctual and team-oriented.
Passion for quality food and customer satisfaction.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with wood-fired pizza ovens.
Creativity in developing new pizza combinations and specials.
Knowledge of Mediterranean and Italian cuisine.
Basic stock control and kitchen management skills.
