Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and meal preparation, with a keen understanding of food safety and kitchen operations. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious dishes that meet our high standards of quality and presentation, while also ensuring a safe and efficient kitchen environment.

Duties

Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes and standards. Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to, maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen. Assist in menu planning, including the selection of seasonal ingredients and innovative dishes. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction. Maintain equipment and kitchen tools, ensuring they are clean and in good working order. Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.

Skills

Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods. Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations within a restaurant environment. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members. Creativity in developing new recipes and menu items that enhance the dining experience. Previous experience as a cook or chef in a professional kitchen is preferred but not mandatory.
