You will be part of our either our Agile Development Team or Digital Services Team.As a Placement Technical Specialist, you will support some of our most vital IT systems and learn loads as part of our friendly, supportive team. This is your chance to build on your degree and gain some valuable real-world experience in a large organisation.The systems you'll work could help our colleagues in social care and education to provide essential support to Leicestershire residents (such as older or vulnerable people, children and young people). In addition, other essential services such as school transport and highway road maintenance.With your growing experience, you'll work on a wide range of technology and systems, such as our Microsoft power platform, chatbots, python, SQL, website development (drupal oriented), forms development platforms as well a host of others.You'll work as part of small teams who will help you along the way, developing your knowledge and experience. This exposure will give you a great overview and some ideas about what you might want to specialise in.You'll be working alongside other experienced and supportive IT Professionals to:-

  • Gather user requirements
  • Build and maintain applications or websites
  • Transpose user requirements into functional software
  • Ensure maintenance of software platforms
  • Resolve incidents in a timely manner
  • Write front and backend code to implement changes and fixes
  • Engage with stakeholders
  • Document solutions for future support and training
  • Support team members and other Technical Specialists in any work that they have on
