We are seeking a highly organised and analytical

Planner / Costing Analyst

to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure while supporting both production planning and cost analysis activities.

Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed production and resource plans from the Master Schedule issued by the CEO, ensuring customer orders and spare parts requirements are incorporated. Liaise with the CEO, Design Team, and Subcontractor Engineer to determine optimal manufacturing routes through the factory and external subcontractors. Generate and manage Works Orders in Sage, tracking progress against the production schedule and subcontractor plans. Collaborate with the Material Controller to ensure production schedules are monitored and updated within the Sage MRP system. Analyse production costs, material usage, and subcontractor spend to support accurate costing and margin analysis for products and spare parts. Work closely with the Purchasing and Warehouse teams to resolve material supply issues and assess cost impact. Provide regular reporting on production performance, variances against plan, and costing data to Senior Management. Support the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation related to planning and costing activities. Partner with the Spare Parts Coordinator to plan timely manufacture and provide accurate costing for spares orders. Continuously review processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and cost control across planning and costing functions.

Qualifications & Experience

Proficiency in Sage 200 and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential. Strong analytical skills with experience in production planning, costing, or data analysis in a manufacturing/engineering environment. Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across multiple departments and with external suppliers. High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
