The Job Mission: Planning Engineer




As a

Planning Engineer

, you will play a critical role in supporting project managers to deliver nuclear projects such as Hinkley Point C (HPC) or Sizewell C (SZC). Your primary focus will be on developing, managing, and monitoring detailed project schedules, ensuring they align with the project's Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

Key Responsibilities

:

Schedule Development

: Create macro and detailed project schedules in alignment with project WBS and standards. Draft associated hypothesis notes for initial schedule creation. Develop resource-loaded federated schedules based on input data. ?

Critical Path Analysis

: Identify the project's critical and sub-critical paths. Monitor and report changes to the critical path throughout the project lifecycle. ?

Project Monitoring and Reporting

: Participate in project steering meetings and visual management sessions. Gather and manage input data for schedule updates. Support project managers in preparing progress presentations related to scheduling. ?

Schedule Updates and Coordination

: Regularly update schedules in collaboration with stakeholders. Update hypothesis notes to reflect schedule changes. Highlight risks, deviations, and potential impacts to stakeholders.

Qualifications



Technical Skills

:

Proficiency in scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, including WBS development. Experience in critical path and resource management analysis. Familiarity with visual management tools and techniques.

Personal Qualities

:

Excellent organisational and analytical skills. Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary environments. Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels. Detail-oriented with a proactive problem-solving mindset.

Education and Experience

:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Proven experience as a Planning Engineer or in a similar role, ideally within industrial or energy projects.
