Planning Manager



Are you ready to take the next step in your planning career? We're offering an exciting opportunity for a driven and experienced Planning Manager to join a fast-paced, forward-thinking rail infrastructure team.

This is more than just scheduling, you'll play a strategic role in how we deliver high-profile projects across the rail network. From leading resource deployment to influencing long-term planning models, you'll be at the heart of operational success and commercial growth.

What You'll Be Doing:



Building and optimising labour, plant, and vehicle plans aligned with project goals. Leading daily and long-term scheduling to keep projects on track and within budget. Managing rotas and rail peak periods (e.g. bank holidays, Christmas blockades). Ensuring safety-critical roles are planned and all workforce competencies (e.g. Sentinel) are in place. Monitoring resource utilisation and analysing the commercial impact of planning decisions. Collaborating across operations, commercial, and leadership teams to shape resourcing strategy. Driving the use of digital tools and systems to modernise planning processes.

What We're Looking For:



Experience in resource/workforce planning, ideally in rail or infrastructure. Strong knowledge of industry standards, safety compliance, and fatigue management. Confident using planning tools and workforce systems (e.g. Reflow, Signal). Excellent communicator and team collaborator who thrives under pressure. Relevant planning or logistics qualifications (e.g. ILM, NVQ). Sentinel certification (PTS desirable).
