We are now seeking a

strong-minded, proactive Planning Manager

to lead our planning function. You will transform customer orders into precise build plans across all manufacturing areas. Initially, planning will be Excel-based--but we're targeting a future-ready transition to a full MRP system.

You'll thrive here if you're a rapid learner, confident leader, and comfortable in fast-paced environments such as automotive or complex manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities



Order Translation & Scheduling:

Translate incoming customer orders into detailed build plans and production schedules.

Capacity & Resource Planning:

Allocate materials, machine, and labour capacity to meet delivery targets and prevent bottlenecks.

Systems Evolution:

Use Excel daily now but be actively involved in future MRP system implementation and governance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Liaise with sales, production, procurement, and logistics to maintain alignment and resolve issues.

Team Leadership & Development:

Recruit, lead, and grow a motivated planning team--conduct training, coaching and build technical skills.

Performance & Improvement:

Monitor plan performance, identify deviations, and drive continuous process improvements and efficiencies.

Requirements



Essential:



At least

5 years' experience

in a planning or scheduling role within manufacturing. Advanced

Excel skills

(pivot tables, lookups, macros/formulas). Exceptional communication, organisation and problem-solving abilities. Proven ability to

motivate and build a high-performing team

. Adaptable, assertive, solution-oriented mindset--thrives under pressure.

Desirable:



Experience in

fast?paced automotive environments

or complex/high?mix manufacturing settings. Track record of migrating from manual Excel planning to implemented

MRP systems

. Familiarity with

lean manufacturing

methods.

Sage?200 and Sicon Manufacturing

knowledge and hands?on experience.

Experience



Successfully managed production planning across multiple areas, delivered on tight deadlines and managed competing priorities. Proven ability to train, coach, and develop operational teams. Experience working effectively within cross-functional leadership structures.
