We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Planning Practice and Performance Manager to lead the business practice of our Development Management Team and the operations of the Local Land Charges Team. In this key role, you will be instrumental in ensuring efficient, customer-centric, and high-performing planning and land charge services are provided to our residents.
Reporting to the Development Manager, you will be responsible for;
Managing and optimising the administrative and technical systems used by the Development Management Team, including Uniform, I-dox, Exacom, and the Council's website.
Providing expert advice on planning administrative processes to senior managers, colleagues, Members, agents, and the public.
Leading and developing the Planning Support and Local Land Charges teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
Managing the Council's relationship with the Planning Portal and coordinating engagement with town and parish councils, planning agents, and architects.
Ensuring robust performance monitoring, reporting on service performance to government and through the Council's internal systems, and managing underperformance effectively.
About you
We are looking for a collaborative and effective manager with demonstrated leadership and management experience and ideally a relevant leadership/management qualification. You will also have excellent knowledge of IT systems, including Document Management Systems and website management, and a good understanding of the planning system. Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills are also essential along with the ability to build effective working relationships with customers, stakeholders, colleagues and partners.
