The Department: Finance

The Finance function is the lifeblood of an organisation, managing the cashflow and profitability of the company, and making a positive contribution to Southco's strategic objectives. The vision for the Finance team is to become a trusted business partner, providing support for all key strategic decisions. Finance works as a team to reach high standards and continually improve, whilst maintaining focus on customer needs.

The Role

This role is responsible for cost accounting, inventory valuation, variance analysis, financial reporting and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The Plant accountant will work closely with the Operations Controller, the wider operations team and the facility leadership to support accurate reporting of financial performance and enhance operational efficiencies.

Requirements

AAT and or CIMA qualified or working towards Degree in Accounting, Finance business or related field (preferred) Highly IT literate in a mainstream ERP system and windows, particularly Excel required At least 3 years' experience in a Finance role Strong communication skills Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
