Hours:

Monday to Friday 40 hours per week - between 08:00 and 17:00 - You are also required to work such additional hours as may be necessary for the proper performance of your duties or that may be required to fulfil role.

JOB ROLE

Carry out servicing and repairs of plant & equipment, provide trouble shooting and diagnostic assessment, conduct machine inspections, reporting defects and attempt to provide solutions. Proactively maintain kit to ensure its uptime for customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Teamwork

Support the General Manager in identifying plant issues. Work proactively as part of a busy workshop team both in the workshop and on our construction sites. Ensuring that safe practices are demonstrated on site whilst conducting your work. Where necessary brief the operators on the issues which are causing damage or wear to plant and equipment. Promote practices in operation and repair of equipment within the business. Demonstrate a personal commitment to rigorously enforcing appropriate standards of Health and Safety for yourself and others at all times. Ensure all processes are followed and complied with. Provide effective solutions for plant problems. Participate in the development of plant maintenance processes which suit our business requirements. Converse efficiently with plant operators and site management teams in a professional manner to be able to ensure efficient maintenance processes for the fleet. Carry out in house training when required. Carry out local risk assessment & method statements. Communicate with managers to organise the repair of machinery to minimise downtime and disruption to site operations Investigate repairs and provide an effective solution. Any other duties as requested by the Plant Workshop Manager. Own and demonstrate proper use of tools, diagnostic equipment in accordance with PUWER regulations. In house fabrications and repair for bespoke items and upkeep of construction plant and equipment.

COMPETENCIES

Excellent knowledge of plant & machinery. Ability to use cutting equipment & welding. Be able to work on your own initiative. Must have good communication skills. Formal apprenticed trained City & Guilds Level 2 or equivalent Use of in house software
